Music and Lyrics (2007)

IMDB rating: 6.50

Plot: Cheery Alex Fletcher lives comfortably in Manhattan off the residuals from his 80’s pop success and reprising his hits at school reunions, theme parks, and state fairs. But those gigs are declining, so he jumps at the chance to write a song and record it with reigning teen idol Cora Corman. Trouble is, he’s good at melodies but needs a lyricist and has less than a week to finish. Enter Sophie Fisher, subbing for a friend who waters Alex’s plants; she’s a pretty good poet, quick witted, and could do it, if she’d agree. But there’s some sort of shadow over her head that Alex may not be able to charm his way past. And what if they do get a song written, what then?

1. I’ve heard it. I thought it was alright.. the features were nice, but I wasn’t totally feeling Exile’s production on it.. that Street Astrologist track is my favorite off the album though.

1) I forgot about it until now. Listening. After 3 tracks though, it seems pretty dope.
2) I’m staying home from school sick right now, partially faking because I had a hell of a lot of homework and shit to do. But I do have a sore throat.
3) I don’t think I have any, but I listen to CunninLynguists and Mos Def everyday.
4) Really? Max? Idk, up to where it’s still comfortable and I can totally hear the music.
5) Surreal & The Sound Providers- True Indeed (Check it out if you haven’t already)
6) It really depends, but probably sample/dj scratch.
7) Man, there’s some rap quote about peace, getting a piece of mine, peace of mind…something. Damn this is gonna piss me off. If you know what I’m talking about, tell me the song.

1) I’ve heard that "I Wonder Why" song and that other one that’s like "me your man Blame One". I downloaded it while ago and have heard those songs while shuffling but not in full depth yet. I really like Exile’s production so I should like it no matter
2) Okay thanks, just finished my mock exams for the week! Have a day off tomorrow and am watching Slumdog Millionaire right now (multi-tasker). How about you?
3) I have a playlist of songs that I listen to everyday as I walk to the bus stop to go to school it has stuff like "Be" by Common, "That’s That One" by Elzhi and "Long Story Short" by Black Milk.. the intro-y type songs that I always find good to walk to lol.
4) Used to be MAX all the time until I realised that’s the reason my past few headphones broke.. obviously bad quality ones :/
5) Uh… I downloaded that Hope For Haiti album to contribute (although I have donated proper money too), I think Jennifer Hudson sounds really good on it, plus it’s for a good cause.
6) Depends, it has to go with the song really. But overall I like voice sample/dj scratch best, then singer verse, then rapping verse.
7) Out?
